 Isobel Aptaker - Curator

About Isobel:
Isobel was appointed as Curator in October 2008. After studying Cultural and History Studies for her BA at the University of Brighton, Isobel gained her Masters degree in Museum Studies at University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Isobel has previously worked at the Houses of Parliament, the Royal Collection at Buckingham Palace and Historic Royal Palaces. As curator, Isobel particularly enjoys planning and running family and education sessions, and her hobbies include horse riding and tap dancing.

 Nina Bevan - Assistant Curator

About Nina:
Our Assistant Curator, was born in Wales, but has spent most of her life in Hertfordshire, at Stevenage and latterly Hemel Hempstead. Nina attended Watford Grammar School for Girls and then Hemel Hempstead School sixth form. After which she gained her BSc in Architectural Technology at the University of Northampton. She is currently studying part-time via distance learning at the University of Leicester for her MA in Museum Studies. Nina has also worked locally at both Bushey and Watford Museums. Nina still lives locally and her interests include 1920's fashions and silent movies. At work Nina enjoys photographing artefacts, promoting the textiles in our collections and training and working with our volunteers.

 Roger Hands - Chairman

About Roger:
Roger Hands was born in Edmonton but has lived in Boxmoor for over forty years. He became a Box Moor Trustee in 1979 and in the same year became a founder member of the Dacorum Museum Advisory Committee, acting as its Exhibitions' Convener. He has always had a wide interest in both local history and environmental matters, at the same time as running a successful landscape gardening business from 1963 to 2006. He is currently the Chairman of Dacorum Heritage Trust (DHT). He also serves on the committees of the Ashridge Estate and the Chiltern Society. Roger is the joint author, together with his wife Joan, of several books about Boxmoor and has contributed to many DHT publications. He spends many hours, now that he is retired, on these important projects, but also finds time to visit his family who live in the USA and Holland.

 John Croft - IT Director

About John:
John Croft graduated with a degree in chemical engineering in 1963 and, soon after, started work at the Kodak processing plant in Hemel Hempstead. His career at Maylands Avenue lasted for eight years, when he transferred to technical support for motion pictures and television marketing at Kodak House. He worked both in the UK and abroad, fixing problems and introducing new products to film and TV companies. After retirement in 1993, he continued to work for several years as a consultant in the same industry. In the late nineties, he became interested in volunteer work for DHT, after meeting Mike Stanyon. He has since been an invaluable member of the committee, maintaining and running the IT equipment, thereby saving DHT hundreds of pounds.

 Mike Wilson - Website Designer/Administrator

About Mike:
Mike was asked to take responsibility for the design of the DHT website in February 2009. He has since expanded and improved the website to its current status, adding many new features, including a shopping cart. Mike (now retired) was formerly an Electronic Design Consultant and Chartered Electronic Engineer. He first became interested in website design after retirement and is entirely self-taught. Other interests include golf, DIY and computers.
