WWI Bullet Pencil

An interesting piece of useful WWI trench art.  A discharged .02 bullet case has been attached to a small pencil.

This item is part of the Harold Toms Collection in the Kings Langley Local History & Museum Society collection.

This artefact came as part of the contents of a cigarette tin which was distributed to all the troops as a present from Princess Mary, Christmas 1914.  It must have been a handy tin to put all sorts of bits and fit in a uniform pocket.
