Hemel Hempstead's Volunteer Company 1915-1919

Although less well known, the Volunteer Force had a similar role in the First World War as the Home Guard had in the Second. This booklet sheds light on the Hemel Hempstead group of volunteers, by giving a brief account of their formation, governance and actions, until they were stood down at the end of the war.
