Our core funding from the Dacorum Borough Council covers staff, building and insurance costs; all additional revenue has to be covered by fundraising initiatives which take place in different guises throughout the year. Fundraising is an important part of what we do, as not only does it raise essential monies for the Museum Store but also raises the profile of the important work carried out by the Curatorial Staff and volunteers.

Members of the public researching their local or family history can use our Enquiry and Research service to search our collections. As a registered charity, the support received through donations is essential to the continuation of this service. We ask for a donation of £10 per hour for visitors to research at the Museum Store. All money raised through this service goes to conserving documents for the future.
The Super 100 Club was set up in 2005 to raise funds to help safeguard DHT's collections. Entrants can buy one or more numbers; these are entered into a monthly draw which takes place during the week of the second Friday. 35% of the total money is allocated into first, second and third prizes. For example: if we sell 100 numbers, the prize money is £35 divided into: First - £20, Second - £10, and Third - £5. The more tickets we sell, the bigger the prize money! Annual subscription to the Super 100 Club costs £12 for each number you buy (effectively £1 per month).
For large projects our fundraising director, Eric Edwards, has been successful in gaining funds from local businesses and the Heritage Lottery Fund. Eric's most recent triumphs include two projects for mobile shelving for the Museum Store, as well as securing funding for a major exhibition and book related to Lefevre Cranstone's paintings.
We are able to claim Gift Aid on the money raised that is not used for prizes or expenses. Please help us to raise extra funds at no extra cost by getting the 'taxman' to donate to Dacorum Heritage Trust; this amounts to 28p in every pound.
