Reminiscence Boxes

Reminiscence boxes are a fun and stimulating activity that everyone can enjoy. Can you remember getting ready for a night out? Do you have stories about what you got up to? This loan box will help you remember and share your experiences with others.

The box is titled 'An Evening Out' and all the objects are based around going out in the '40s and '50s. The objects include records, photographs, hats, dance programmes and hair curlers. The objects have helped many people who live in care homes, or are in local groups and societies in the area, to recall their memories from the past.

There is no charge for care homes, just a £10 returnable desposit.

Please telephone the Store on 01442 879 525, or email Isobel Aptaker or Nina Bevan

New Reminiscence Box

A new loan box, funded by the Dacorum Partnership, will be available in early 2010.

Our new box, school life and childhood will include the possibility of building links between local schools and residential and care homes to encourage inter-generational reminiscing.

The Dacorum Heritage Trust and Age Concern are working together to provide this resource.
