ROGERS, [Francis] Edward
Private 5950504, 5th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Died Sunday 25th July 1943. Aged 23. Son of Francis and Lilly Rogers, of Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. No known grave. Commemorated on SINGAPORE MEMORIAL, Note: His mother had already died and it can only be surmised that his father (who lived in Little Gaddesden until his death in 1959) gave Berkhamsted as the nearest town – there are also several 1st World War entries where that has happened. Edward’s full name and his address in Little Gaddesden are confirmed in his National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations) entry.Kranji War Cemetery, Singapore. Column 56.
