Curatorial staff ran a 'What is History?' workshop for year 4 pupils at St Hilda's Harpenden on Wednesday, 8 September. Pupils were encouraged to think about how History is made, who it is that makes history and what we can learn from objects about the past. Objects from the collection such as diaries, letters, archaeological finds and photos were taken to the school to inspire the children to write museum style captions as well as using archaeological pots to inspire their own designs. To help write the museum captions the pupils were asked to think about how old the objects were, how it would have been used, how it got into the collection, what it was and how it would been used.
