Object Loan Boxes

Curatorial staff have worked with three local teachers to ensure the boxes and their contents fit in with the National Curriculum requirements.  Each exciting box contains A3 laminated photos, objects from the collection, replica artefacts and a resource pack with class and group activities.

A charge of £10 per box for a 2 week long loan, plus a £50 returnable deposit is required. To request an Object Loan Box booking form, please email collectionsmanager@dacorumheritage.org.uk or call us on 01442 879525

(You may book loan boxes for longer than 2 weeks, but charges will apply)

We are currently trialing a delivery option for schools within the area of Dacorum.  This is an additional cost of £5.

Our loan box themes are:

• Romans and Archaeology (Key Stage 2)
• The Victorians (Key Stage 2)
• WWI Centenary (Key Stage 2 + 3)
• The Second World War (Key Stage 2)
• Prehistory: Neolithic, Bronze Age and Iron Age (Key Stage 1 +2)

 

NEW LOAN BOX AVAILABLE for September 2019

Our Talking Box is now available!!  We have had Museum Resources for schools for many years, but now for the first time we are using modern technology.

Five mystery objects are contained in this box, when they are placed onto the device, audio will play.  Our talking loan box prompts children to write a story based on one of the objects from the Museum’s collection. The box begins the story, – how will the pupils finish it?

This resource is free until December 2019
